Some of my favorite CGI work used in films are in Frank Millers '300' and 'Sin City'. Both films used computer generated backgrounds in mostly all of the shots. Both films were shot on blue screen filmed on high definition. In 'Sin City' the buildings were all created in 3d then textured to look photo realistic. In '300' all the skys and landscapes were CG, which is why they look so spectacular and over the top.

this is an an animation i found of a photorealistic digital character. It was created by compositing highly detailed 3d animation, modeled over actual video footage. The thing that makes this such a great animation is not just the amazing realistic animation, but the character its self, 'Tractor-Spider-Crab, which is animated in such a way that gives it a personality.
For my newest brief, personal and professional development, i was asked to analyze a style or method of technology used in the media.
I have chosen to focus on CG and 3D animation, this type of work has always fascinated me, and i take a keen interest in its used and how it is done.
CG and 3D animation is used largely in film making and advertising. It gives the producers the chance to create things that are not able to be filmed such as special effects used in stunts, or landscapes. Also there is a large use of 3D animation used in advertising mostly the products are not photo realistic, like in some toothpaste or heartburn adverts. where animated people are shown in a 3D mouth.
